New Perspective Massage

Healing for the body, the mind, the spirit

About The Practitioner

Hello, hello!

My name is Joy Riggs, and I've been doing massage for the last 7 1/2 years. I attended what used to be called Utah College of Massage Therapy, and is now Cortiva Institute, and received training in over 15 modalities or styles of massage therapy through both the professional and master bodyworker programs. I've worked in a variety of spa settings, and now I'm working for myself, doing things the way that feels best for me to serve my clients.

I am an advocate for the healing power of physical touch, and I believe that as humans, healthy, positive touch is vital to our health and well-being on every level. The more I learn about the human body, the more I realize that everything is connected, not just physically, but mentally, spiritually, and emotionally as well. It is a beautiful gift to assist and witness others healing on each of these levels simply by addressing physical pain and tension. I am constantly inspired by how people approach their healing journeys and learn better ways to heal myself through connecting with the people who come to me, seeking relief and rest.

When I'm not doing bodywork, I'm usually having some kind of adventure; going interesting places, developing a skill, or simply enjoying music or a favorite show. My most current adventures include growing my very first vegetable garden, exploring the uses of herbs, and learning to play the guitar.
